Overview

Due to the specific payment processing requirements set by Instagram/Meta, your Shopify store is unable to sell products directly through these platforms. This is because Instagram/Meta mandates the use of Shop Pay / Shopify Payments, which is not a compatible or compliant payment gateway for Flaviar Checkout.

Why Shopify Payments is Required

Selling through Instagram/Meta from your Shopify store requires that all sales made through their platforms are processed using Shopify Payments. This payment gateway ensures that the financial transactions meet their specific compliance and security standards.

Why Our Integration Is Not Compatible with Shopify Payments

To ensure a compliant flow of funds from the consumer to the licensed retailer fulfilling the order, we enable a third party payment gateway, Stripe, on all of the Shopify stores we are integrated with. Shopify only allows for one payment gateway per store so we must process all orders through our Stripe account, and it may never be disconnected.

If you enable Shopify Payments for any reason, the funds for each order will bypass our Stripe payment gateway and flow into bank accounts we do not manage. This presents compliance issues for all parties.

If Shopify Payments is enabled in your store without our knowledge or approval we will need to turn off your sales until we can resume the compliant flow of funds through Stripe & recoup all order fees that were paid to bank accounts that we do not manage.

For a comprehensive of list of Shopify settings you should not modify, please see this guide.

What Does This Mean for You?

Unfortunately, this means that you will not be able to sell your products directly through Instagram or Meta platforms while integrated with Flaviar Checkout.

Alternative Solutions

We understand that selling through Instagram/Meta can be a great way to reach more customers. While direct sales through these platforms are not possible, you can continue to promote your products on Instagram/Meta and redirect customers to your Shopify store where they can make purchases.
