What You Need to Know & How We're Preparing Our Integrations
Shopify is encouraging all stores to upgrade their Thank You and Order Status pages by August 28, 2025. After this date, the current versions of these pages will be locked - meaning you will not be able to make any changes to these pages without upgrading to the newest version. Shopify will start automatically updating these pages in Jan 2026.
You can read Shopify’s official announcement here: Shopify Upgrade Guide.
This article explains what the change means for your store.
Why is Shopify making this change?
Shopify is transitioning to a modern Checkout Extensibility framework to improve:
Page speed and performance.
Enhanced security and future compatibility.
A more scalable and supported customization model (via Checkout UI Extensions).
Starting August 28, 2025, the old Additional Scripts field will no longer be supported on the Thank You or Order Status pages.
How does this impact your store?
All stores have our custom Flaviar Order Status Link embedded on your Shopify Thank you & order status pages, which is currently implemented via the Additional Scripts field.
This will continue to work after the 8/28/25 deadline, but will be automatically removed if these pages are not upgraded by Jan 2026.
We will be building a new version that is compatible with the newest version of Shopify's order status page & installing it ahead of the Jan 2026 auto-upgrades.
No action is required on your part for this specific update.
2. Other customizations (tracking pixels, scripts, etc.)
If your store has added any other custom scripts or pixels (such as Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Klaviyo tracking, or other third-party code) in the Additional Scripts field, those scripts you will not be able to make any changes to these scripts after 8/28/25 unless you upgrade.
We will not be auditing or migrating your store’s custom scripts for you.
It is the responsibility of your brand team to ensure any other scripts you wish to preserve are properly migrated to the new Checkout extensibility model (Shopify Pixels or Checkout UI Extensions).
If you choose to upgrade these pages before we have the newest version of our Order Status Page block available (current ETA is Mid-September) the current order status block will be temporarily removed from your order status page until we install the newest version - but this won't have any impact on order processing.
What should I do next?
No action is required regarding our custom Order Status Link - we will manage this update.
You should review your store’s Additional Scripts field and migrate any other important scripts you wish to preserve.
If you are unsure what is in your Additional Scripts field, you can find it under:
Shopify Admin → Settings → Checkout → Review the Action required banner at the top of this page.If you do not see this banner at the top of the Checkout section of your settings, your Order status and Thank you pages have already been upgraded.
Shopify will provide a customized summary of the updates needed in order to seamlessly transition to the new Thank you and Order status pages. Click 'manage' next to be directed to the relevant apps.
Any recommended updates outside of Flaviar's order status integration is the responsibility of you, the brand, to update before the deadline.
