Marketing Clients: UTM Tracking for Buy Button Brands

Overview

Until now, UTM-based conversion tracking was only possible for brands with a full Shopify storefront.

But we’re excited to announce that Flaviar is now unlocking this feature for Buy Button brands - exclusively for those enrolled in our marketing services program.

This means you can now track which ads, emails, or campaigns are driving conversions, directly inside your Shopify analytics

How It Works

Once you're enrolled in our marketing services, we’ll enable a setting to your Buy Button embed(s) that, when activated, sends customers through a custom Shopify checkout URL. This allows UTM data to carry over into the final purchase record.

Once enabled:

  • The customer’s journey is tracked end-to-end

  • Shopify logs the sale under the “Online Store” channel, not “Buy Button”

  • You’ll see your campaigns reflected in your analytics — just like you would if you had a full Shopify storefront

Cart Behavior: A Quick Note

There is one current limitation: When this feature is active, a customer’s cart will not be cleared after purchase. This means if a customer revisits the site after buying, they’ll still see the items in their cart.

We recognize this is less than ideal and are prioritizing a fix in a future version of our Buy Button.
