Overview
As a reminder, Flaviar was recently made aware that Shopify will no longer be supporting the current version of its Buy Buttons. As a result, the current Flaviar-powered Buy Buttons on your website will no longer work as of April 1st, 2025.
Our team has been working hard to create a new version of the Buy Buttons per Shopify’s updated requirements as soon as possible.
The latest version of our buy buttons is finally here! Here’s what’s new:
Buy Button Profiles: Instead of having to manually re-apply the same buy button design across multiple products, you can now create a Buy Button Profile to apply to all of your products!
Future Buy Button design edits and code improvements: We have updated our code to enable Buy Button updates to be released “remotely”, helping you in two ways:
If you need to make design changes to your Buy Buttons (excluding any code customizations outside of our designer,) you can make these updates in Flaviar Checkout and it will automatically apply the live buttons on your website.
For important infrastructure updates or bug fixes that we need to release in the future, you won't have to replace your buttons with new code.
How to replace your Buttons
Log into Flaviar Checkout using your email & password
Find the menu in the top left corner > open the Product section > Select Products from the dropdown.
Open your product details by clicking on the product name
Scroll down to the Buy Button Versions section of the page
Here you will see the old, deprecated version of your buy buttons are now disabled
We've copied the design from your most recent buy button version for you already - all you need to do is click on Buy Button Code to open your code
Copy your latest version of the buy button.
Now that you have your buy button code all you need to do is paste it into your site & publish!
Important Notes:
Any customizations made OUTSIDE of our Buy Button designer - including custom fonts - will need to be re-implemented by your team.
You must replace all Buy Buttons at the same time to avoid any customer issues with the cart and checkout. (i.e. You don't want to have both old and new Buy Buttons co-existing on your website.)
You must replace all of the Buy Button code on your website by April 1st to avoid any downtime.
Need implementation support?
For brands with Buy Button designs made exclusively within our Buy Button designer (i.e. no further customizations needed once the code is retrieved from Flaviar Checkout), you can opt in to receive implementation support from our development team.
If opting in, you will need to provide us with:
Your list of active products
Every URL from your website where a Buy Button is installed
Full back-end access to your website.
